Raynie Wood

Dr. Raynie Wood joined the Board in 2020. Dr. Wood has had over 20 years’ experience as a global leader in post- secondary education. She is currently the Dean for the School of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) which offers a broad range of programming/credentials in IT, security, communications and media at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) in Calgary, Alberta. Over her time in post-secondary education she was in a variety of roles from faculty, project manager and program evaluator for the implementation of an expanded scope in health, faculty developer, Associate Director for Curriculum Excellence, and an Associate Director for International Projects (working in Bolivia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Mozambique). She has engaged as a committee member in a range of national examining boards and accrediting bodies, and more recently as chair for program quality audits in Ontario. Additionally, she has been a board of governors member at SAIT and is currently the chair for the MSM Higher Education Advisory board.

She earned a Master’s in Education from the University of Calgary, specializing in Adult, Community, and Higher Education, and a PhD in Education and Human Resource Studies, specializing in Community College Leadership at Colorado State University. Her dissertation was an Australian case study focusing on the decision-making Process when deciding whether or not to establish a branch campus, which included measures of success.
